Kittur is a port situated in the Karnataka state of India,
it is the previous capital of major archeological site. Kittur Fort and Palace
is situated in Honnidibba, Belgaum. It was held by the Desai Marathas of Kittur, and in addition Rani
Chennamma, a Lingayat lady warrior of Karnataka. The story behind this fortress
and royal residence is that Rani Chennamma, a lady warrior who rebelled against
the British in 1824, once managed over the royal residence.
Kittur achieved its apex amid the Mallasarja Desai. The
place has a Nathapanthi matha in police line territory, and sanctuaries of
Maruti , Kalmeshwara, Dyamavva and Basavanna, the last named a later Chalukyan
landmark now totally remodeled.
The archeological historical center at the area is overseen
by the state branch of antiquarianism and exhibition halls. It has a rich
accumulation of ancient pieces found in and around Kittur, which incorporate a
couple of the weapons, swords, mail-coat, shield, engraved wooden entryways and
windows of the Kittur royal residence, engravings, herostones, Surya, Vishnu
both from Kadrolli, Vishnu and Surya from Devarashigehalli, Subrahmanya from
Manoli, Durga from hirebagewadi and numerous more artifacts, and in addition
some advanced compositions.
